Yemen’s Houthi rebels fire 2 missiles at a container ship as an oil tanker burns

Yemen's Houthi rebels fired two missiles targeting a Liberian-flagged container ship in the Gulf of Aden, though the projectiles splashed down nearby without causing any damage, authorities said Saturday. The attack comes after the Houthis repeatedly assaulted and then boarded a Greek-flagged oil tanker in the nearby Red Sea, planting explosives on it they later detonated. Ethereum Gaming Network Geist Is Members-Only to Prevent 'Industrial Farming'

Pixelcraft Studios, the company behind crypto game Aavegotchi, is creating a “members-only” Ethereum layer-3 gaming network called Geist, built with the scaling tech of both Arbitrum and Base. The move comes as the company fears that “industrial farming” is an issue preventing real players from enjoying crypto gaming. “A lot of crypto games are farms,” the pseudonymous CEO and founder of Pixelcraft Studios, Coder Dan, told Decrypt, “[and] there’s nothing wrong with a farmer.” “But the problem is...

Bitcoin OP_CAT Upgrade: Can Revived Satoshi Code Transform the Top Blockchain?

Bitcoin’s developer ecosystem is the hottest it has been in years. Projects, tools, and proposals to unlock new decentralized applications for the OG crypto network are now part of the mainstream Bitcoin conversation. One proposal central to that conversation is BIP-347, or “OP_CAT”—though called BIP-420 by some proponents—a potential soft fork upgrade that proponents think could supercharge Bitcoin’s capabilities. At a bare-bones level, what OP_CAT does is allow users to join, or “concatenate,”...
