Southeast Asian ride-hailing platform TADA has introduced a new Telegram mini app in partnership with the TON Foundation.
This initiative allows users to book rides directly through the Telegram messaging platform, facilitating payments using Toncoin or USDT on the TON blockchain.
The TADA mini-app enables web3 users to book rides directly on Telegram without additional sign-ups or app downloads. This collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of web3 solutions by integrating them with popular web2 platforms.
"If we want to accelerate the successful adoption of web3 solutions, it's crucial that strong partnerships are forged with exciting web2 platforms that enable their users to quickly become familiar with the many benefits of web3," said Harvey Kim, Head of Korea at the TON Foundation.
He described this partnership as a significant step towards expanding the TON blockchain's reach in Southeast Asia.
To promote the new service, TADA and the TON Foundation plan to offer 4,000 complimentary rides during the TOKEN2049 crypto conference, scheduled in Singapore from September 14 to 18.
TADA, which was founded in 2018, currently operates in several countries, including Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia. The company is also planning to expand its services to Hong Kong by the end of this year.
The launch of the TADA mini-app comes as Telegram has been expanding its crypto footprint, with millions of users playing tap-to-earn games on the platform that utilize tokens on the TON blockchain.
Telegram recently introduced a mini-app store and an in-app browser with support for web3 pages, capitalizing on the growth of these crypto-based games on its platform.
